  DEPAK
The food packaging industry is faced with the constant dilemma of dealing with "off-spec." product so that it is safely disposed of and prevents redirection of the products back into the marketplace. The EKO DEPAK densification technology provides a fully automated process which separates the food/liquid material from the packaging, and then compacts the packaging material into a dry Briquette with 98 per cent of the liquid removed. The liquid/food is directed to a holding tank from the high pressure de-packaging chamber and is then pumped out of the machine. This completely closed system prevents any exposure to the atmosphere of the product content thus reducing odour and minimal zing machine clean up.

The briquettes can be sold to recycling companies as feed stock for steel or aluminium mills. In the case of the liquid/food material, often it can be used as animal feed, compost or fertilizer. This creates revenue and at the same time eliminates the cost of trucking and disposing of the materials in landfills. The cost savings will significantly reduce the payback period for the EKO DEPAK system.

By installing the EKO DEPAK machine in-house or at a secure off-site reclamation facility you maintain control of the "off-spec" material. It gives you peace of mind knowing that the product has been safely and economically removed from circulation and disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

EKO's DEPAK is a economical alternative to land filling "off-spec" product. Disposal costs will be significantly reduced as both the separated packaging and their contents can be recycled. Automatic operation ensures that manpower needed to run the program will be minimal. As well, the efficient containment of the liquids means an end to messy machine clean up and an unsightly facility.

On site product destruction guarantees that "off spec" product does not re-enter the marketplace where it could result in negative publicity. Your corporate image with be enhanced as a company with a waste handling program that focuses on recycling and landfill diversion.
